Description The text focuses on the private travel diary of the Czechoslovak archaeologist and Buddhologist Lumír Jisl. The text covers his stay in the People’s Republic of China from 6 September 1957 to 10 February 1958 and it openly and critically captures the atmosphere of Chinese everyday life. Jisl portrayed in a vivid way mainly diverse Buddhist and other temples, rock and cave sacral complexes, and other significant monuments of Chinese history. The text is supplemented by color and black and white photographs.
