Description Doderer became in the course of his life the central director of the iron works AG Rothau-Neudek with seat in the Rotava. This closed in 1927 with the mountain u. Metallurgical company in Brno. In this context, the two companies jointly founded the sheet rolling mill AG Karlshütte in 1928 in Friedeck. Richard von Doderer was entrusted with the planning, construction and subsequent management of this large company. For him, it was the culmination of his career, as he now stood at the top of the then largest and most modern European sheet rolling mill. When the "Eisenwerke AG Rothau-Neudek" collapsed in 1931 as a result of the global economic crisis, their sheet metal production in Rothau and Neudek in 1932 was taken over by the "Blechwalzwerk AG Karlshütte". Because of the difficult economic situation Doderer had to carry out hard restructuring and rationalization measures. The plants in Rothau and Neudek had to be closed and the workforce at the Karlshütte plant had to be significantly reduced. This article shows, among other things, how this situation was received.
