Description The chapter analyses the phenomenon of the subordination of city churches to mother parish churches in the countryside using the example of two Moravian churches in Litovel and Uničov that were under the control of a common mother church (ecclesia matrix) in Medlov. Both churches had the status of filial churches (ecclesia filialis) since the beginning of the 13th century, but at the same time, from the point of view of pastoral care (cura animarum), they were also parish churches and were labelled as such in sources (ecclesia parrochialis). The author also analyses the charters regarding the dismembration of both churches in the years 1448 and 1510 (litterae dimmembrationis).
