Description | The prevailing direction of both observed institutions in Brno (the Department of European Ethnology and the Institute of Ethnology of the CAS) can be defined as the continuity of research focused on traditional folk music and its bearers, beginning from the study of historical materials and their availability to the contemporary bearers from folklore movement. Today’s ethnomusicological workplaces pay significant attention to the digitization of sound recordings from the 20th century – not only to make the work with material easier; it is also a way of making the original recordings accessible to the public. |
