Citation
Description The chapter is about the medieval Russian painter Andrei Rublev. First it presents his short biography and his most important works. It also treats some problematic attributions to Rublev of some of the medieval paintings. Furthermore, the chapter analyses the famous icon of Trinity, preserved in the Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow. Finally, the chapter evokes the question of "iconization" of the painter that we can perceive during the centuries after Rublev's death.
