Description The present monograph deals with Czech-Slovak cultural relations and the methodology of the Brno Czech-Slovak confrontations at the backround of Central European area in a series of studies covering the Czech-Slovak relations in the sphere of literary scholarship and critical evaluation, literature itself and individual personalities, besides some others, literary scholars Dionýz Ďurišin and Andrej Červeňák and the writers themselves like Ľudovít Štúr, Martin Kukučín, Dominik Tatarka, and the politician Alexander Mach. The interpretation focuses on the political contexts of literary phenomena in the crucial moments of the co-existence of both nations with decisive years 1968, 1989 and 1993, on the problems of Czech and Slovak poetry and genre spectrum including memoirs and quasimemoirs. The kernel of the book is a comparative study in contemporary Czech and Slovak prose analyzing, besides others, the works by ladislav Ťažký and Rudolf Sloboda and their Czech counterparts. The dominant approach is the understanding of Czech-Slovak cultural and literary relations - at the same time - mutuality and resistance.
