Description B. V. Savinkov depicts in his story the personality of a Russian terrorist, who devoted his life to the „revolution“ totally without taking into account his personal life and its social dimensions. The praxis of terror and the near contact with death changed him – he lost the ability to respect human life as the most important value and became murderer. In this way Savinkov expressed his fear that the people taking part in a revolutionary terror could become heartless, could be convinced to accept violence as the main means of getting their own way, which could have very negative impact on the whole society.
