| Description | In this talk I deal with the specifics of focusing and de-focusing expressions (toritate expressions) in Czech language, one of the slavic languages. In Czech, there are toritate particles and toritate adverbs to be acknowledged. Their distributional qualities are different. In the talk I focus on expressions with the semantic feature of similatiry and prominence to show specifics of Czech toritate particles and adverbs. I introduce common and distinct features of Czech toritate expressions in a contrastive perspective with the Japanese expressions, while considering especially their constructional characteristics. |
