Description | 21stcentury approach to learning stresses skills and competences students need to succeed in work and life, and defines interdisciplinary themes that promote understanding of academic content at higher levels. One of the possible ways to address those new demands is to incorporate children’s and young adult literature into the curriculum, which will provide pupils with extended learning opportunities that will enhance their attitudes and aptitudes, and allow for integration of the educational fields and cross-curricular subjects. In the workshop we will give several demonstrations looking at novels that could be used with students at lower secondary schools, and discuss their potential for the English classroom and beyond. |
