Description | Every exam undergoes changes from time to time, such as revisions, re-specifications and revalidation. The reasons for a change might vary, going from a shift in the requirements and expectations of the users of test results, to the changes in the state of knowledge in the field of language testing or within the development team. All these reasons lead the team of the Czech Language Certificate Exam (CCE) to the decision to revise the suite of exams of Czech as a foreign language for all five levels (A1 – C1) and all components (Reading, Listening, Use of Czech, Writing, Speaking). The revision of the CCE exam started in 2015. Apart from the effort to fulfil external quality standards laid down by ALTE for all its member institutions, there was also internal need to review the exam and redefine validity argument to understand better the nature of the construct and be able to communicate it to the stakeholders. The whole revision process begun with receptive skills, and in 2017, similar process started for the Writing component. |
