| Description | The paper introduces an approach to spatial conceptualization as a semantic component that is reflected in the structure of the Japanese language. It argues for cognitive sources of the conceptualization of "uchi" and "soto" (based on mainstream theories within the Cognitive linguistics enterprise) and presents some formal manifestations of the two aforementioned concepts in the structure of modern Japanese. |
