Description The article deals whit a new chapter on the approach to upbringing and educating of children opened in Czechoslovakia after the Communist coup d'état. Inspiration by Soviet pedagogy was reflected not only in the reorganization of Czechoslovak education, in the change of educational strategies, but also in new organizations involved in the education of children. Among these we include the Pioneer Organization, whose focus has been seen on school grounds despite the initial confusion. However, the enforcement of the educational potential of the Pioneer Organization was not without difficulties, and its successful functioning often depended on the acceptance of Soviet methodological theorems and on the more or less hidden intervention of the Communist Party.
