Description Prague of 1917 and 1918 saw some appalling insinuations levelled at Prague-based German-language authors by Czechs. Subsequently, the stabilization of the new state has brought a certain easing of the attitudes, especially towards those, who promoted Czech literature in German-speaking countries. After 1945, the reception of Prague's German authors has changed again, first in relation to the taboo status of German cultural heritage in the post-war society and second in relation to the death or departure of its Jewish mediators.
