Description The publication Anatomy of a Leap into the Void introduces works of art and realizations that emerged as a direct response to the violent suppression of the Prague Spring of the Warsaw Pact troops in 1968, and the subsequent period, which stopped the efforts to keep an open civil society and lead back to the subordination to the Soviet Communist Party. The works of art marked the invasion, the deaths of Jan Palach and Jan Zajíc and the beginning of normalisation. The publication focuses on the years 1966 to 1973, in which it is easy to see how domestic art has been emancipated and has begun to engage with the international structures of the art scene. The artists and the artworks reacted or anticipated all important topics and approaches - new geometry, new figuration, conceptual and action art. The most famous authors of this period are Václav Boštík, Stanislav Kolíbal, Jiří Kolář, Adriena Šimotová, the Slovak authors Josef Jankovič or Július Koller. However, regional authors like Miroslav Šnajdr, Eduard Ovčáček, Stanislav Bukovský and others have not also stayed away.
