Description | Brill's Series in Church History and Religious Culture edition and its scholars contribute to the new concept of the history of Reformation for a long time. Even though the edition is not primarily focused on the history of Reformation, a great part of its bibliography is made of publications on this very subject. One of them is the book called Sisters: Myth and Reality of Anabaptist, Mennonite and Doopsgezind Women ca. 1525-1900, which is actually a collection of studies written by Dutch, Belgian, German and North-American historians and subsequently presented in the Myth and Reality of Anabaptist/Mennonite Women in Continental Europe conference held at Free University of Amsterdam from 30th to 31st August in 2007. The key topic is the image of the Anabaptist woman, its origin, development and transformation from the beginning of the 16th century to the end of the 19th century. |
