Description The aim of this paper is to discuss the interdisciplinary nature of research in the field of classroom interaction. Linguistic, educational and psychological as well as subject specifics of such research will be discussed and illustrated on a short classroom data extract. It will be argued that the consideration and articulation of linguistic, educational, psychological and subject aspects is crucial for further development of research in classroom interaction.
