Description The aim of the present article is to showcase the reception of Balbín’s Dissertatio ..., which seems not to be the sole result of the author’s own advertisement of his work (namely in his work Epitome historica rerum Bohemicarum 1677, I, chapter 3; as well as in Miscellanea historica regni Bohemiae I, libri 3, cap. 20), but also thanks to the knowledge of J. J. Středovský’s Mercurius Moraviae memorabilis (1705). With its defensive, de facto with balbínesque motifs of the so-called Baroque slavism and nationalism, the said work of Středovský entered the tide of German-written Vienna Cyrillo Methodian Homilies (1708–1783 at St. Michael church in Vienna); in the tide of the second half of 18th century, however, there seem to be less of the so-called defensive slavic elements. At the present, and within a given context of influence of Balbín’s „Dissertatio“, the autor of this article is attempting to merge the existing research on Středovský, represented by printed publication and article by M. Hýsek (1920), as well as passages from A. Pražák’s book (1945), with the results of the typewritten volume on J. J. Středovský (1973, namely the articles by K. Godmann, which are based on the manuscripts in the inheritance of Bohumil Zlámal, professor of theology at the University of Olomouc). Furthermore, the author incorporates, in connection to Czech and Austrian research in the field, additional scholarly texts that deal with Vienna Cyrillo Methodian Homilies (following this line of research: B. Zlámal: 1938; A. Mais: 1957/58; M. Kopecký: 1965, 2002; W. Welzig: 1989; M. Hashemi: 2010, 2013, 2015; V. Maňas: 2013).
