Description | The third volume of the series summarizing remarkable phytosociological relevés provides new data and comments on the ecology, species composition and distribution of five vegetation types in the Czech Republic. Non-forest vegetation is described in three contributions. Disturbed and slightly halophilous vegetation with Carex secalina was recorded in southern Moravia, where it was almost unknown in the last decades. The second contribution brings valuable data on the last remnants of unique psamophilous vegetation (alliances Armerion elongatae, Corynephorion and Thero-Airion) in the Orlice river basin. Submerged vegetation with Potamogeton alpinus, rare due to the need of clean water, was recorded in the Žďárské vrchy hills. Two contributions are focused on forest vegetation. Moderately wet lowland oak-hornbeam forests (association Circaeo-Carpinetum) and scree forests with abundant spring ephemeroids (association Scillo-Fraxinetum) were reported from southern Moravia as new for the Czech Republic. |
