Description The presentation reflects on the post-1989 historiography concerning Russian émigrés in the inter-war Czechoslovakia (Russian Relief Action). It concludes that the history-writing on white emigration was strongly affected by the persecution of white émigrés by the victorious Red Army following the WWII. Thus, the historiography serves in many aspects purposes of redefining Czechoslovaks national history after 1989, as well as reflects the search for an explanation by the descendants of the émigrés who came through the persecutions in 1945 and then by the Czechoslovak socialistic state.
