Description The article discusses the question of corporate memory, as it formed in company-internal journals in 1949-1951 as the basis for a new corporate identity of the nationalized textile producing companies. In particular, the magazines Naše pětiletka (Our five-year plan) of the Vlnap group and Mosilana píše (Mosilana writes) of the Mosilana group, which were written by employees or by the trade unions, are discussed. The focus of the paper is to show how these magazines relate to their corporate past or to the past of the Czechoslovak textile industry in general. Despite the ideologization of corporate memory in the sense of the communist regime, which was already dominant as early as 1949, the debate about the question what kind of criticism would be desirable in the new corporations which was conducted in the magazines, reveals that there are relevant continuities with the capitalist era which were repressed by the new power. However, such subversive debates evaporate at the latest during the year 1951.
