Description | The study investigates semantic and syntactic aspects of motion in relation to its directionality. It takes into consideration not only the semantic structure of motion verbs and their syntactic behaviour but also a causal structuration of motion events. This approach has made it possible to posit directed motion as a distinct category and to illustrate the non-additive status of the directionality of motion as it asserts itself not only at a semantic and a syntactic level but also at the level of the causal structuration of motion events. |
