| Description | Two Jocelyne Saucier’s novels are located in Abitibi and northern Ontario and placed under the sign of a murderous fire: Les héritiers de la mine (1999) and Il pleuvait des oiseaux (2011). In both cases, the fire takes a symbolic value, underpinned by religious imagination. The theme will be discussed as a structuring element at different levels of narration. |
