Description The paper deals with political activities and opinions of a prominent Czech spiritist of the 1930s and 1940s, Bohumil J. Kosovský, focusing on the period of the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia. A specific attention is paid to his illegal group (1948-1950), reason of his nine-year imprisonment in a forced-labor camp, and to a utopian project of a reform of the State he developed in mid-1960s. In a secondary manner, some reflexions are developed concerning the use of security forces documents as biographical evidence.
