Description The lecture was created for the International Art-History Symposium SandrArt that took place in Trnava on the 5-6th March 2019. The presentation focused on the relationship between the gymnastics movement Sokol and its art between 1862 and 1948, showing the extent to which Sokol influenced the history of art by producing many works of art. Firstly, the birth of Sokol and his visual was introduced, created by the painter Josef Mánes, and then four art areas into which Sokol intervened. It was architecture (Sokol gym buildings, stadiums), painting (posters), sculpture (monuments) and applied art (numismatic objects, theater curtains, cut vases, ...).
