Description In this poster we present some results of studies included in the first author’s Dissertations Thesis, which focus on language in patients with schizophrenia. In three studies we focused on the disturbances in the speech, language and thinking among Czech people with this psychiatric illness. We compare qualitatively and quantitatively the scores in three diagnostic tests: Word association test (WAT), Verbal fluency test (VF) and Vocabulary (from the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale) with nonclinical sample. We found a specific way of associating, clustering and switching in verbal fluency and verbal description ability of words which is different from people not suffering from schizophrenia. The results are in accordance with the previous studies of other languages. The main goal of this poster is to summarize the results of these separate studies and to provide the general conclusion.
