Description | In this paper, I look at the Italian passato remoto (past tense) forms and based on nanosyntactic principles I argue that the irregular forms of classes 2 and 4 are special in that their special roots contain the theme vowel that is otherwise spelled out by the (regular) root and the theme vowel itself. |
