Citation
Description In this text we discuss the autobiographical trilogy by Tereza Boučková (namely Indiánský běh (1992), Rok kohouta (2008) and Život je nádherný (2016)). Especially in these prose works, Boučková exhibited her own experience with the adoption of Roma boys, including the disillusionment of the results of her self-sacfificing upbringing. Thanks to the vivid form of literary journals, Boučková´s strong, socially up-to-date topic has awakened great attention in both literary and non-literary circles. We focus mainly on the way in which the "other" and "foreign" elements are presented in the narrator's perspective; in particular, we deal with transforming narrator's relationship with adopted children and her own family. The most significant change is observed in Rok kohouta, primarily in comparison with Indiánský běh.
