Description | Changes in plasma concentration of amino acids (AAs) might affect the susceptibility to psychotic disorders and influence the outcome of the treatment. Further, level of AAs in the central nervous system depends on the level of AAs in the blood. In this context, AAs and some biogenic amines are important indirect biomarkers for schizophrenia diagnosis. In our study we focused on applicability of CE-quadrupole-time-of-flight MS for AA profiling in serum samples of schizophrenia patients. The method was derived from CE-MS publication on cationic metabolite separation and adjusted. |
