Description | The purpose of my paper is to investigate the question of violence in the lives of children in the Roman antiquity focusing mainly on the possibilities and limitation of our knowledge about this phenomenon. I propose to consider some methodological problems resulting from the character of our sources as well as from the possibility to apply an interdisciplinary approach. What can we learn of children’s active participation in violence or about their experience as its victims or as witnesses when upon someone else violence is inflicted? |
