Description | The interdisciplinary conference took place as a part of the broader international four-day activities called Ancient Days, focused on the revival of antiquity. The conference was divided into two sections: Ancient history and Olympism. The conference offered an intersection between history and sport and refered to their age-long connection. International participation and great variability of papers provided interesting results and discussions. In the Ancient history section, it was possible to hear lectures dealing with ancient Crete, Greece, Rome and contributions about the history of the Etruscans and the Jews. In the Olympism section there were topics focused on the history of the modern Olympic Games, on the relationship between Games and Olympism and on the special events in the international atmosphere. |
