Description | Hydride generation is ideally suited for trace and ultratrace element and speciation analysis of hydride forming elements. However, the final step of the whole procedure, hydride atomization, has to be optimized. The aim of the presented work was to quantify the distributions of al the three fundamental parametres (H radicals, temperature and analyte free atoms) in miniature diffusion flame and flame-in-gas-shield atomizers. Together with a numerical model of the gas dynamics and heat transfer within the atomizer observation volume, it yields a complete information required for the optimization of both studied atomizers. |
