| Description | Our presentation is devoted to the topic of military campaigns in Arsk lands in 1552 and their reflection in contemporary Russian written sources. The battle for Arsk is a bit forgotten alongside the great victory of the Russian troops in Kazan and it also fades alongside other great victories of Ivan the Terrible. For the Volga Region, the fall of Arsk, which foreshadowed the annexation of the areas inhabited by the Ugrofins to Moscow, was crucial. |
