Description In this paper I outlined the main characteristics of Czech as a heritage language in Croatia. This heritage language differs from the baseline due to three language processes: attrition, transfer and divergent attainment. I showed the changes which the heritage language has gone through within two generations: third generation heritage language is, with regard to communication competence, on the same position as Croatian. However, the language of the fifth generation indicated that this competence has grown weaker. Due to that I listed further steps needed to be done in order to preserve Czech language in Croatia for future generations.
