Description | The recent research of the urban music culture in Brno, Znojmo and Jihlava before the Battle of White Mountain has revealed a number of new findings about the obligations of city trumpeters in secular and in liturgical background. In addition for Moravia, the uniquely preserved last wills of these musicians show essential information about their social status. The newly acquired information from the sources of an institutional nature can be combined with the already processed, yet still nearly unknown facts about trumpeters in the city of Olomouc. In the following paper are presented the most important findings of the synthesis of the city trumpeters in the Moravian royal towns in the pre-White Mountain period. |
