Description The conference paper will focus on the role that literary discourse can play in initiating a change in the relationship between nature and culture. In doing so, I will work with the concept of nature as a network concept (cluster concept, see Schroeder 2006) and with a cognitive approach to an individual's relationship to the environment as a continuous interaction. In the assertion of transferring reading experience to the current world, I will draw on the ongoing debate on the impact of reading on the human mind, with particular regard to literature voluntarily delimiting the boundaries of consensual reality, which through symbols and metaphors allows a specific transfer of meaning.
