Description | In his Conversations on the Plurality of Worlds (Entretiens sur la pluralité des mondes, 1686), French philosopher Bernard le Bovier de Fontenelle introduces one of the first projects of popularization of science. I trace Fontenelle´s description of the universe closely connected with various forms of beauty – from the description and evaluation of the harmony of colors and shapes in the universe to the references to the stylization of real-life maps. |
