Description Glass cleaning prior to coating steps like printing or painting or for further glass processing (e.g. laminated safety glasses) is one essential part of obtaining the required surface conditions. Normally it is achieved by a combination of mechanical and wet chemical pre-treatment. However, organic residuals (induced or from the environment) can be an issue, especially for adhesion properties. Plasma cleaning as a dry method could be an alternative or an addition to overcome this limitation. In this contribution, we present results of a bilateral project on soda-lime sheet glasses using atmospheric pressure plasmas.
