Description The chapter analyzes educational values in czechia and Slovaiíka in 1991-2017. Firstly, it introduces theoretical approach towards relationship between modernization and individualization processes and corresponding change in educational values preferences. Analyzed educational values are divided into 3 groups: traditional, modern-individual, and modern-prosocial ones. Assumption was we shall witness move from traditional to modern values because of the general move of the formal totalitarian society towards modern one. Results show that the assumptions cannot be hold. In both countries the most preferred values were the mixture of prosocial (e.g good manners), traditional (hard work) and modern (independence or feeling of responsibility). The most trasditional values (obedience, religious faith or thrift) of which we assuemd that they will have high suppport in 1991 hich will decrease lately, had only low support in 1991 and kept it low during the whole 1991-2017 period.
