| Description | The aim of this article is to explore the various roles of textile decorations in medieval sacred spaces, while considering their capacity of creating different zones of accessibility and visibility. It attempts to assess this problematic from two different perspectives: on the one hand by analyzing the textual sources, namely the entries of the Roman Liber Pontificalis, on the other hand by examining evidence from specific archaeological situations and artistic depictions. |
