Description The article deals with one manuscript fragment of Brno municipal law from the first half of the 14th Century (1336–1348). This fragment was known thanks to our oldest medical rules included in it and published by B. Bretholz in 1911, but the original source (one leave of parchment) have been lost from Bretholz’ era. After its new discover in Brno City Archive pays the author his attention to the codicological and diplomatical marks of the fragment and elucidates its function in the development of the oldest official books in Brno in the era of famous municipal notary John. He used this leave (like a parchment fragment) to the binding of Psaltery, Ms. 18/36, given in his donation in cca 1349 to the library of St. Jacobus’ church in Brno.
