Description We report new maximum values of vascular plant species richness ever recorded at 10 m2 and 16 m2-plots. Both come from sites where world record species numbers were reported before but from different plot size or with indication of different management regime. Our results support the view that extreme species richness is a temporally stable feature of managed East-Central European semi-dry grasslands. We observed that low to medium-intensity grazing may support species-rich vegetation similarly to mowing, at least in short-term.
