| Description | The museum world is to a large extent a reflection of societal transformations at global and national levels. It is therefore influenced by the prior development of the field, worthy of reflection. Period first Republic, the Second World War and the advent of communist totalitarianism in our country significantly influenced the activities of the Union of Czechoslovak Museums. The aim of the conference is to recall some aspects of the development of Czech and Slovak museums of the time and outline the topics that are worth deeper research. The colloquium should seek the answer to the question of whether and in what way there is a continuity of efforts of the Union of Czechoslovak Museums with current professional associations operating in the Czech and Slovak Republics. It is also an opportunity to think and to compare approaches to their solution in the Czech lands and Slovakia. |
