Description Social life during late socialism was influenced not only by factors connected with the political establishment and ideology but also by phenomena related to the modernization and change of the quality of life in the countryside. At the same time, the continuous influence of values, ideas, and ideas passed on in the generational communities from generation to generation cannot be overlooked. To understand the context of changes in social life, a microhistorical approach was chosen in doctoral research with an emphasis on monitoring a wide range of archival and narrative sources related to life in selected municipalities in southwestern Moravia. Emphasis was placed on understanding the strategies that people have chosen to engage in activities to which they have a special meaning - for example, dance parties linked to the identity of rural communities.
