Description | The book focuses on three-generation living in Czech society. Based on interviews conducted with representatives of three generations - grandparents, parents and children - he monitors interpersonal, intergenerational and family relationships in this type of arrangement. It focuses on the stories of those who currently "live under one roof" with two (or sometimes three) generations. It deals with everyday ways of forming relationships, practices of care and kinship, the circumstances of the emergence of three-generation living, its future. The explanation begins with memories of how three-generation living arose, and continues through current experiences with living and the challenges that such living brings (issues of ownership, intergenerational relationships, care relationships, etc.). The narrative culminates in expectations about the continuation of multi-generational living and anticipation of the future of houses. This book is a contribution to the sociological and anthropological studies of family, kinship, intergenerational relationships, and care. |
