| Description | The goal of this paper is to present the results of the rescue excavation conducted by Archaeological Agency s.r.o. in Čereňany (dist. Prievidza) in 2018. The presentation will give an overview of the excavation results with the focus on the material culture, formation processes and relation of settlement and selected environmental parameters in the context of the upper Nitra basin. Pottery material dates the site from the early LBK to Želiezovce group. Extraordinary is a torso of a female figurine which might be dated to the early LBK. Another two ceramic fragments could be interpreted as anthropomorphic figurines suggesting either household or communal ritual practices. Lastly, a settlement development model will be introduced.
