| Description | This study set out to investigate production tactics used by slovak documentary producers. the main aim of this study was to explore how the slovak audiovisual fund influences production tactics in terms of economic, thematic, and content decisions of the producers. this paper attempts to show that field of the slovak documentary movies enables producers to use relatively broad set of tactics, but there are limitations like preferred topics (socially relevant movies, movies about art etc.) or different positions of the slovak audiovisual fund representatives on budgets of the movies. however, producers in interviews made for this study rejected direct influence of the fund on the tactics they choose. the study also argues that there are niche tactics in the slovak documentary field which are not eligible for the fund, or have specific rules applied on them. |
