| Description | The present contribution provides detailed insight into quantitative methods that can be comprehensively utilized when studying consumption of music within the contemporary digital world. Furthermore, it also focuses on the possible interconnections between quantitative sociology and musicology and provocatively discusses the very nature of these two fields by disputing their interdisciplinary potential. Statistical- and mathematical-based methods such as Knowledge Mining and Social Network Analysis are central to author's interest here. One of the main emphasis is then being put on the roles of these methods in the process of studying macro world of music listeners as well as the dynamics of the peculiar social environment of music streaming platforms. |
