Description The article is mapping the interpretation of major international events (for example, war in Korea or remilitarization of Germany) in the church press of the three largest churches (the Roman Catholic Church, the Czechoslovak Church and the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren) in Czechoslovakia. The official press was subjected to censorship, but it created the image of socialism as the bearer of peace ideas. These ideas formed a space for mutual dialogue between christians and the ruling communist regime in Czechoslovakia. However, the method of using peaceful ideas also served as a tool for gaining influence among believers for the favor of communist regime. The comparison of the official press also allows for a search for any differences or similarities in the approach of the communist regime to each church. The article includes the years 1948–1953 (the founding period) with possible necessary overlaps.
