Description | The study analyses the context of the anti-militarist demonstrations of conscripts from villages in the Brno region during the conscription in 1905. It examines the question of why the first impulse for them came from the conscripts from the peasant villages of Babice and Kanice and whether their actions were based on their own convictions or were the result of external influence. It also looks at the extent to which and in what sense the whole affair was politicised and used propagandistically by the main political camps and how the state authorities reacted to the conscripts' anti-militarist demonstrations. |
