Description | The values associated by the students with the university-studies (and especially with Baltic studies) differ greatly from those of professors, which results in a paradoxical situation: universities offer to students as if to much, students would often suffice with much simpler goals. Along with that, contemporary education politics emphasises pragmatic aspects of the education, which is incompatible with the nature of philology, the latter belonging to the field of non-pragmatic knowledge. This leads to the contemporary crisis of Baltic studies. |
